I was born in Liverpool, England, and spent my childhood years growing up on the Isle of Man, an idyllic little island in the middle of the Irish Sea, famous for its motorbike races and its cats with no tails, and where it is still considered most unlucky to cross the fairy bridge without saying hello to the fairies. When I was fifteen, my family emigrated to Melbourne, where I instantly fell head-over-heels in love with Australia.
After finishing school, I began my career in the travel industry, moving to Alice Springs for two years to work as a tour hostess for a leading luxury tour company. I got to see much of the Australian Outback and loved that the view from my office window was through the windscreen of a bus. I travelled the road to Uluru and back so many times, I lost count. I also travelled the West Coast, enjoying its wildflowers and magnificent coastline, whilst all the time, getting paid to do so. Not a bad way to earn a living!
My call to writing began many years ago, fuelled by empathy and a desperate desire to help ease the pain of those suffering the loss of a loved one. Over the years, I have spent much of my spare time writing heartfelt and inspirational verse. My poems have been purchased as memorial, graduation, and wedding gifts, across the globe.
I am now married with four adult children and am blessed to call the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, home. I spent thirteen years working at a local primary school as an Education Support Officer (Integration Aide) supporting children with additional learning needs. Working with these gorgeous young people every day, inspired me on my journey to becoming a children’s author. I currently work in disability support and hope to spend more time writing stories that inspire and touch hearts.
